Often we will have students want to transfer to our school, due to reasons such as they:
In both cases, it is very easy to make the switch. There will be two types of students: those that come from another "certified" school, and those that come from a "non-certified" school.
Most martial arts schools in the world are certified through the Kukkiwon (Korea) and the World Tae Kwon Do Federation (WTF). In the United States, these schools are also certified through Team USA (United States Olympic Team), and the USAT (USA Tae Kwon Do). People who have trained under certified schools worldwide have all learned the same curriculum. Therefore, if you are from a school, anywhere in the world, that is associated with the Kukkiwon and WTF, you will fit right in, and continue training at Troy Martial Arts, without interruption. If you are transferring from a school in the United States, then the previous school would be associated with the USAT and Team USA (Olympic Team). At Troy Martial Arts, we are affiliated with all 4 associations, and teach the same curriculum as they do. We are registered with all 4 associations, and pay dues for this association, and also participate in tournaments nationwide sanctioned by these associations.

Did you also know that there is only 2 martial arts in the Olympics every 4 years? Tae Kwon Do (Forms and Sparring) and Judo (Wrestling) are the only two sports. Why? These are the only two Martial Arts in the world that have standardized rules and teaching curriculum worldwide. Hence, it makes it easy for all the countries of the world to compete against each other, given they all have the same rules. The same is not true for things like Karate, Ju Jitsu, Hapkido, etc, since they are all home-grown systems, that are mostly one single school dependent for curriculum.
Certified School
Non-Certified School
While most martial arts schools in the world are certified through the Kukkiwon (Korea) and the World Tae Kwon Do Federation (WTF), there are a large number of schools that can fall within the following groups:

Summary - Any martial arts student under any curriculum can transfer to our school, keep their current ranking, and develop a plan with our staff to transfer that belt to a Kukkiwon, WTF, and Olympic Approved Martial Arts belt.
